The New Exodus settlement is an homage to Rem Koolhaas's Exodus. Rem's project involved dividing London with a wall similar to the Berlin Wall. The drawings Remus created for this project were a bold example of modernist utopias.

Unlike Koolhaas's project, New Exodus promotes the principles of modular architecture. Modular architecture is based on the flexibility and adaptability of the city in response to changing needs over time. A settlement that follows the principles of modular architecture develops organically and gradually diversifies its functions. This allows the township to adapt effectively to the different needs of residents and changing conditions.

Instead of a static and unchanging structure, modular architecture offers a flexible and scalable system where different modules can be added or changed over time. This allows for a more adaptive and efficient space that meets the diverse needs of residents and the community at large. Thus, the New Exodus settlement is a kind of laboratory of modular architecture, demonstrating the principles of flexibility, adaptability and organic development in the construction and planning of urban space.
